Sorry, but I can inmediately hear that Jose Feliciano is not spanish. He is completely deforming the Malagueña. Malagueña is a dance and song from the XVII century originating from the Malaga area in Andalucia, Spain. The main melody has to be played in a rythm not to fast so that it can be danced before you add some faster variations. Please listen to interpretations of the Malagueña by spanish guitar players such as Pepe Romero, Sabicas and Paco de Lucia.

Malagueña is a centuries old Spanish song. It may have been used as a theme motive in one or two Lecuona's works, but that doesn't make him an author of Malagueña! Ernesto Lecuona was a great piano composer, don't get me wrong!

It is a stunning performance, full of joy, skills.., alive, focussed, honest and personal. Bravo.
